Section: 80 - North Beach and South Beach Definitions

As used in Sections 10.16.070 through 10.16.130, the following terms have the meanings as set forth in this section.

"Motor vehicle" means any vehicle with an engine or motor which motor or engine is powered by means of internal combustion, electricity, solar energy, methane or any other power source.

"Permit year" means April 1st of one year to March 31st of the following year.

"North Beach" means the beach on the Pacific Ocean, which begins at the most westerly projection of Point Saint George, north of Crescent City, and continues in a northeasterly direction approximately one and one-half miles to the mouth of Sweetwater Creek within the Tolowa Dunes State Park.  Sweetwater Creek drains from Dead Lake to the Pacific Ocean.  The beach includes, but is not limited to, all sandy areas seaward of the first line of vegetation.

"South Beach" means the beach on the Pacific Ocean, which begins near Anchor Way at Highway 101 about one-quarter mile south of Crescent City and continues in a southeasterly direction to the Crescent Beach overlook within the Redwood National Park. The beach includes, but is not limited to, all sandy areas seaward of the first line of vegetation. The Crescent Beach Overlook is identified as White Knob 2 on the United States Geological Survey 7.5 Quadrangle Map as "Sisters Rocks."
