For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively set forth in this section:
A. "Ambulance" is any privately owned vehicle equipped or used for transporting the wounded, injured or sick and includes, but is not restricted to, emergency vehicles used for such purposes.
B. "Ambulance operator" is any person engaged in the business of carrying or transporting wounded, injured or sick persons for hire over and along public streets.
