Chapter: 08 - Bar-O Boys Ranch

Section: 40 - Duties of ranch superintendent

In fulfilling his or her duties to control and manage the ranch and its internal affairs, the superintendent of the ranch shall have the following authority and responsibility:

A.  Except as provided in Section 9.08.030, and subject to the final authority of the board of supervisors, exercising complete administrative authority and responsibility for the operations of the ranch;

B.  Developing and presenting the budget of the Bar-O Boys Ranch. It is the intent of the board of supervisors that the superintendent personally shall present the budget of the ranch to the county administrative officer and the board of supervisors;

C.  Determining whether any ward has proven to be unfit to remain in the Bar-O Boys Ranch and making recommendations to the probation department for consideration for other commitment;

D.  Reporting to the Bar-O Boys Ranch oversight committee and the board of supervisors regarding all matters within the purview of the superintendent as set forth in this section;

E.  Scheduling and conducting the Bar-O Boys Ranch oversight committee annual inspection of the ranch.
